RANGERS confirmed the signing of attacker Joe Dodoo from English Premier League champions Leicester City on a four year deal.
The 21 year-old winger, who can also play as a central striker, had been training with the Light Blues before securing a deal having made his breakthrough into Claudio Ranieri’s remarkable Leicester squad in the first half of last season.
He netted a hat-trick on his debut against Bury in the Capital One Cup, and followed that up with a goal against West Ham in the same competition, meaning overall he boasts a record of four goals in the four matches he played for the Foxes’ first team.
Speaking after their game with the Hammers, Ranieri said of Dodoo: “He was fantastic. He’s very smart and he was ready to shoot at goal. Joe is good because he can smell the goal.
“When he shoots at goal he is very dangerous, and he had another chance to score. Very good.
“I’m very happy with him and excited because he’s a very attentive lad and often I speak with him about his best position, how to attack and how to defend.”
He also enjoyed a short loan spell at Bury in League One between November and January last year, netting on his debut there against Burton Albion.
Eligible to play for both Ghana and England, Dodoo has represented the Three Lions at youth level previously.
