Date of Birth 24 January 1999
Rangers can announce that Jamie Barjonas has penned a new deal with the club, extending his contract until 2021.
The year extension, following on from a new contract in November 2017, which would have seen him through to 2020, comes after the talented youngster was made a first-team player last month
Barjonas, who is now 20-years-old, has spent the entirety of his career at Rangers after signing aged just nine.
Speaking to RangersTV, Barjonas said: “This season has been good for me, I had a strong pre-season so the gaffer moved me up to the first-team and I am really enjoying every minute of it.
“To get the contract signed and stay for another year is brilliant for me and my family.”
He made his first-team debut in May 2017, aged 18-years-old, in a league game against Partick Thistle and has made a further eight appearances for the Light Blues since.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard said: “Jamie moved up to the first team squad only this season and we’ve been impressed with his progress so far.
“We believe that he is in the right environment to continue to his development and realise his potential.”
The midfielder spent the first half of the 2018/19 season on loan at Bury Football Club, where he made four appearances for the side who went on to be promoted at the end of the campaign.
Barjonas then moved to Raith Rovers in January 2019 and made 11 appearances for the Scottish League One side, as well as scoring twice.
