We are The Rangers Football Club Limited, a company incorporated in Scotland with Company Number SC425159 and having our registered office at Ibrox Stadium, 150 Edmiston Drive, Glasgow, G51 2XD (the “Club”, “we”, “us”, “our”).  We are a data controller in terms of the Data Protection Act 1998 and our registration number with the UK Information Commissioner is Z3497490.

This Privacy Policy covers the Services we make available via rangers.co.uk (our “Site”).  By using our Site and our Service you agree to our Website Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy. Any changes to this Privacy Policy will be posted here.

Our Site may contain links to websites that are not operated by us. These third parties may collect data from you and share some of that data with us.  We are not responsible for any misuse of personal information by such third parties. We recommend that you view the Privacy Policy of each website that you use.

We want to offer you Services which you want to use. We may use information about you to help us customise our Site and to improve its usefulness to you. It can also help us to choose Services we think will interest you.

If we process information about our customers and visitors to the Site, then this helps us sell advertising space to advertisers of products and services relevant to you and helps fund our Site through advertising and also enhance our Services.

  1. Your Privacy

We endeavour to ensure that your data is stored securely and to prevent unauthorised access. We have technical and organisational security measures in place to protect your information which we monitor regularly. Unfortunately, despite our measures, because of the nature of the internet, we cannot guarantee that your information will remain at all times 100% secure. The continuing efforts of hackers to defeat even the newest of security systems means that we can never make this promise.

Where we make interactive features available on our Site, such as chat rooms, forums, discussion threads, profile pages etc then please be aware that if you disclose information on such areas or other or other public areas it may be possible for other people to use this information. We are not responsible for the disclosure of any information you post in this way.

It is our policy is to comply with the Data Protection Act 1998, the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, the Regulation of Investigatory Powers (Scotland) Act 2000 and all other applicable legislation which governs the maintenance of privacy in your information.

We do not knowingly collect and/or share personal information from children under the age of thirteen on our Site. However, your child may not be able to use some of the features of our Site without providing personal information – this relates to any interactive features of any of our Services. We may share your personal information with any member of our group, which means our subsidiaries, our ultimate holding company and its subsidiaries, as defined in section 1159 of the UK Companies Act 2006.  We may also share your personal information with selected third party businesses that we have a contract with to facilitate the delivery of goods or services to you.

The personal information you give us is only disclosed to other businesses if we have your permission. In particular, even where we have your consent we will only disclose your financial, credit card or bank details to our agents and/or third party suppliers of products or services on a need to know basis including, for example, in relation to the fulfilment of any e-commerce transactions.

The information we pass on will not include any personal information by which you may be identified.  For example, we do not disclose information about identifiable individuals to our advertisers, but we may provide them with aggregate information about our users (for example, we may inform them that 500 men aged under 30 have clicked on their advertisement on any given day). We may also use such aggregate information to help advertisers reach the kind of audience they want to target (for example, women in Glasgow). We may make use of the personal data we have collected from you to enable us to comply with our advertisers’ wishes by displaying their advertisement to that target audience.

We may also share your details with analytics and search engine providers that assist us in the improvement and optimisation of our Site.

We may also share your details with credit reference agencies for the purpose of assessing your credit score where this is a condition of us entering into a contract with you.

We may disclose your personal information to third parties:

  • In the event that we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal data to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets.
  • If the Club or substantially all of its assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
  • If we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal data in order to comply with any legal obligation, or in order to enforce or apply our Website Terms and Conditions, or terms and conditions of supply or any other legal agreements; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of the Club and our customers, or others. This may include exchanging information with other companies and organisations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.

We may forward your personal details to the Police or another regulatory body if we are asked to do so or wish to do so in order to comply with the law or in relation to any suspected misuse of our Site or our Services by you or any other person.

We endeavour to prevent unauthorised disclosures of your personal information by other people, but we are not responsible for any unauthorised disclosures or other breaches of security or for the actions of others if the information was passed to them with your authority or with the authority of anybody other than us or our associated companies.

Our Site may include applications, content and/or adverts from third parties that may perform user activity tracking in addition to that described herein.

  1. Where we store your information

The data that we collect from you may be transferred to, and stored at, a destination outside the European Economic Area (“EEA”). It may also be processed by staff operating outside the EEA who work for us or for one of our suppliers. Such staff maybe engaged in, among other things, the fulfilment of your order, the processing of your payment details and the provision of support services. We will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
