RANGERS staged a miraculous comeback coming from three goals down to snatch a dramatic draw at Motherwell.
A goal from Amy Muir as well as stoppage time strikes from Jade Gallon and Holly Napier grabbed Rangers a late draw in a game most had thought had passed them by.
Motherwell struck two early goals which gave them a solid position going into half time, they then added another just after the break which seemed to put the game beyond the light blues. However, after the Motherwell side became depleted by injury, the Gers began to make their extraordinary comeback.
Rangers had struggled to find a foot hold in the game early on with Jade Gallon’s long range shot the only opportunity for the Gers early on. Motherwell then struck the first goal of the game in the 15th minute through Mhairi Fyfe’s low shot from around 12 yards out.
Motherwell doubled their lead in brilliant fashion shortly afterwards after Lori Gardner fired a shot from 25 yards out into the top corner of the net.
Rangers struggled to find a foot hold in the game, the closest they came to getting a goal back in the first half was through a Carla Boyce half volley from the edge of the box.
The Light Blues made a more intense start to the second half and came close on the 51st minute when a low free kick from Chelsie Watson forced a good save from the Motherwell keeper who parried the ball away.
Motherwell then seemed to grab what looked like the decisive third goal through a Sarah Crilly strike.
On the 84th minute, Amy Muir made a great run before firing low and hard past the goalkeeper to give the away side a glimmer of hope.
Rangers then entered stoppage time continuing to push and they got their reward two minutes into added time when Jade Gallon broke through the Motherwell defence and fired a brilliant strike past the Motherwell keeper. A nervous finish was now in store.
Rangers then completed an extraordinary comeback with what was the last kick of the game. Following a corner from Muir the ball was bundled in by Holly Napier from a few yards out, cue jubilant scenes from the players and the away fans. The Gers rescued a dramatic point having seemed down and out just minutes beforehand.
