RANGERS Ladies U17s secure a second straight league title with victory over Hearts ensuring a 100 per cent record this season.

The win follows an earlier League Cup success and with a Scottish Cup final to come on November 9 there is a chance for a fine treble for the girls.

Any potential nerves in the final outing of the league season were soon settled by two goals from Sarah Robertson in the first 10 minutes.

Rangers added two further goals before the break, firstly Robertson completing her hat trick after some excellent link up play by Dana Baird and Kirsty Howat and then a deflected Caitlan McLean shot beat the brave Hearts keeper, who had pulled off some fine saves during the first half.

Despite the scoreline Hearts had caused Rangers numerous problems in defence and the superb Sarah Clelland had to be alert on a number of occasions to thwart the lively Hearts attackers.

Erin Cuthbert was dominating the midfield and it was no surprise when, just after half-time, she drove forward before smashing in number five with her left foot.

Rangers then proceeded to dominate the second half with substitutes Kayleigh Docherty and Claire Adams securing midfield dominance for Rangers and allowing striker Robertson and winger Amanda Traynor to grab two further goals that their overall play merited.

Despite being out-played Hearts capitalised on some slack defending to grab two consolation goals before Megan Karagiozis completed the scoring right on full-time.

Hibernian Ladies now stand between Rangers and a treble. The Scottish Cup Final will be contested by these two teams on Saturday November 9th at Toryglen.

The game will be a tight affair if the previous meeting between the teams is anything to go by. On that occasion Rangers had to come from behind to eventually win 3-1.
