RANGERS Women will travel to Edinburgh to take on Spartans tomorrow in the final game of the SWPL season.

The Gers have already secured a fourth place finish in the league with recent victories over Spartans and Motherwell.

Boss Gregory Vignal is hopeful his side can end the season on a high this weekend. He said: “I am expecting a win, I spoke to the girls on Monday night and we had a chat about this and we have to finish strong.

“We have to make sure we finish the season with three points. It is always important because we have to show our strengths and our character.

“It has been difficult of course against City, Hibs and Celtic but I know we are not naïve and we work really hard but for me it is really important to win this game.

“I think everybody is happy to finish fourth so that is why I want to win against Spartans on Sunday and to show the improvement since July.”

Striker Rosie Mcquillan scored in the last league match for the Women against Motherwell two weeks ago, and she is expecting another close game against Spartans on Sunday.

She added: “Spartans are a tough team, we have played them twice this season and it has been really close, it is the last game of the season and they will want to end on a win obviously but we want to too and I don’t think anyone will be happy if we don’t come away with three points.

“We know they are a tough team but I think because we played them so recently we know how they are going to play and we can combat that and hopefully go and get the three points.”
