RANGERS’ midfielder Caitlin O’Hara is looking forward to getting involved in Sunday’s derby match against Celtic and is keen for her side to continue their goalscoring form.
Going into the match, O’Hara believes that morale is high after Rangers showed their ability to overcome the difficult result against Hibernian two weeks ago with a 4-1 SPWL Cup victory.
She said: “Training has been really good this week and we’re feeling really confident after a positive start to the season.
“The team is looking good and we’ve been working really hard, it was good to bounce back against Forfar after a disappointing result the week before.”
A key focus for Rangers so far this season has been to become more clinical in front of goal and O’Hara believes that Rangers are beginning to find their stride and she hopes it continues on Sunday.
O’Hara said: “It’s good to be spreading goals around the team. We had four different scorers last week against Forfar.
“It’s brilliant for momentum to have goals coming from all different areas of the pitch. Goals build confidence, you need goals to win games.”
While O’Hara acknowledges the growing atmosphere around a derby game, she knows that it’s important that Rangers stick to their status quo to be fully prepared for the match.
She said: “We are feeling really excited; the game has got the added spice to it with it being a match against Celtic but I’m feeling confident.
“I’m really hoping that I can make my way into the starting lineup and be able to impact the game somehow.
“I think there is always an atmosphere around games like this. We will play our normal game and we will prepare in the same way but it’s obvious there’s the extra bite.
“We want to win this game and we are ready to battle.”
