RANGERS Women’s joint head coach Malky Thomson says the squad have made use of the extra week of preparation after last weekend’s postponement.
The Gers are set to get their 2020 campaign underway on Sunday against Dundee United in the SWPL Cup.
Last Sunday’s match against Queen’s Park was called off due to the weather, but Malky said the squad used the time to train.
Speaking to RangersTV ahead of this weekend’s game, he said: “It was really disappointing, we had geared up for it and we had a great week in preparation for the game but obviously the weather cancelled the game as it did with most of the games.
“However, we utilised our time and we trained and then went into this week in preparation for this game on Sunday.
“We have passed the pre-season phase and we are now just getting them match ready, so it is just game by game we just prepare the same as any other team would do we are just looking to each game.”
Malky is expecting a tough game against the SWPL2 side this weekend.
He continued: “I think it will be a hard game, I think it will be played at a junior park and I would imagine that the surface is going to be quite heavy.
“It will be about us and how we approach the game and our desire and our relentless attitude towards getting the win.
“Just to be as professional as they have been, their attitude and application has been great right from the start and again we are just trying to create good behaviours repetition of practice and everything that goes with being a full-time player.
