MALKY Thomson is delighted Rangers Women are reaping the rewards on the pitch for their hard work in training.
The Gers joint head coach praised his side as a 3-0 victory over Hamilton this afternoon saw them win their third game in a row, with three clean sheets.
Speaking to RangersTV after the match, he said:
“I am really pleased again it has been a nice progression for the girls and again our preparations leading into the game were good and they executed the game plan really well.
“Every training session we look to layer the sessions and I think you can see there we had total domination of the ball, the speed of play was better and we were trying to shift the ball about the back a lot quicker and playing through the third so it has been really pleasing to see them getting the rewards.
“I think we have a real positive mood in the group. The club have been fantastic with the lengths they have gone to in backing the whole programme is great.
“Everything from pre-match, to using the auditorium the same as the first team guys are doing. Everything to do with that process is definitely showing on the park.”
Centre-back Lisa Martinez netted twice for the Gers, with Megan Bell also on the scoresheet with her fourth goal in three games.
Thomson continued: “It was great for centre-backs to be scoring, Lisa is a very confident player I think she is a good defender she has got a threat in the box and she goes off to the international group tonight so it is good.”
