RANGERS defender Lauren Gallon said her side did not show their true ability in their 4-0 defeat to Hibernian in the Scottish Building Society SWPL.
The Light Blues suffered their first defeat of the season after a hat-trick from Lia Tweedie and a goal from Siobhan Hunter provided league leaders Hibs with the three points.
Gallon said she understands the team performance was not up to standard and that the squad needs to move forward fast from the frustrating loss.
“We are very disappointed with today’s result, it is definitely not a reflection of what we can do on the pitch. We feel as a group that we can perform a lot better.”
While the home side put in a strong performance, the team know that errors cost them in the match.
Gallon said: “A lot of goals today were due to our wrong doing, we need to correct that, it’s early in the season so we definitely need to rectify these moving forward.”
“Obviously Hibs done well to put us under pressure, but we can do better with our problem solving. We should be able to deal with these situations on the pitch and that is something that we need to improve on.”
Looking ahead to the SWPL Cup match against Forfar Farmington, Gallon believes it is vital that the team keep working collectively to get back to winning ways and kick on.
“We need to keep together as a group and as a team. I think we need to keep working hard and we need to push each other. We need to demand more and know that we are a lot better than today.
“Moving on to Forfar next week we need the result and we need to start gaining momentum for the rest of the season.”
