CHANTELLE Brown was a standout player as Rangers progressed to the 2nd Round of the League Cup after a 5-1 victory over Hamilton Academical.
The youngster praised the team spirit and put the performance down to a good preseason.
She said: “I thought the team started really well and it was great to get the first goal so quickly. I think preseason has obviously paid off for us after we’ve played good opposition in boys’ teams the past two weeks.
“It says a lot about the team, a lot about the character that it’s not just one person that wants to score the goals. It doesn’t matter who is scoring the goals as long as the ball is in the back of the net.”
After winning a penalty, scoring and assisting Chantelle was pleased with her individual performance.
She said: “I thought I played really well. I felt good going forward and I felt I was good tracking back even though I had a couple of bad tackle against me, I thought I dealt with them well.”
After securing a place in the next round of the cup, the focus is on the league but first for Chantelle, it’s a trip to Portugal with the Scotland U19 squad along with fellow Gers Laura Hamilton, Hayley Sinclair and Claire Adams.
She said: “Training in the next couple of weeks will be focused on the league but I’m going to Portugal so for me I will miss a week of training and possibly a game so just getting back at it when I’m back.”
