Speaking after scoring his 100th goal, the beaming hitman explained: “It’s huge. As much as personal milestones are always second to the team being successful, now it’s actually happened and achieved, you can look at it and be very happy and very proud to get 100 goals for the club I love.

“I’m delighted, and it’s nice to have got the win as well. It was a great bit of build-up play with Lee Wallace rampaging down the left, and it’s unlike Waldo to actually put in a ball like that, but he’s hung it up at the back, I’ve never had to break stride, I’ve caught it right on the volley and it’s flown in.

“There aren’t many people who have achieved it, and the names that are in there already – guys who I have watched and supported all through my life – to be up there beside them is great, so I’m delighted to get the goal but more importantly it was the winning goal for the three points tonight.”

Miller joins such Rangers greats as Ally McCoist, Ralph Brand, Willie Thornton, Billy Simpson, Jimmy Millar, Davie Wilson, Jim Forrest, Kris Boyd, Willie Johnston, Max Murray, John Greig, Mark Hateley, Derek Parlane, Alex Scott and Johnny Hubbard on scoring 100 since World War Two.
