ON RANGERSTV supporters can watch in-depth one-to-ones with a number of former Gers favourites, as they discuss their football careers and years at Ibrox.
Today you can watch a new Big Interview with former Rangers midfielder Kevin Thomson who made 109 competitive appearances for the club, scoring three goals, between 2006 and 2010 after signing from Hibernian.
Thomson won the League in 2009/10, the Scottish Cup 2007/08 and League Cups in 2007/08 and 2009/10 with the Light Blues. He was also instrumental in the run to the run to the UEFA Cup Final in Manchester in 2008.
In a three part series of in-depth interviews totaling over an hour, Thomson discusses all aspects of his career. The first part covers growing up in the borders, being at Coventry as a youth, joining Hibernian and his time at the club, his move to Ibrox and the early stages of his Ibrox career including defeating Celtic with Ugo Ehiogu scoring his spectacular goal.
In the second part of the interview, he chats through his joy at playing for the club in the Champions League, that special game against Lyon in France and coming up against a team of superstars in the match against Barcelona at Ibrox and the magic of a European night at Ibrox.
He also chats through scoring his goal against Celtic in the League, the fact that Allan McGregor would have been in front of him in the pecking order for taking a penalty in Florence and just making the Cup final in Manchester through injury.
You can also watch him discuss the fact that he thought Pedro Mendes was the best player that he ever played with and the astonishing goal that the Portuguese midfielder scored against Celtic.
The final part of the series sees Kevin talk about the last season at Rangers, his frustration with injuries, ultimately leaving the club to head to Middlesbrough when he’d have liked to have stayed at Ibrox and his time after the Light Blues, discussing his next move in football, running the Kevin Thomson Academy – click for more info.
To give you a sample of what to expect from the three part series, watch Kevin talking about playing in the Old Firm matches, including his debut match as a 23 year old at Celtic Park and the goal scored by Ehiogu.
