RANGERS LADIES put their first three points of the season on the board as they beat Stirling University 4-1 at New Tinto Park.

The win moved the Gers up to 5th in the table with goals coming from Sarah Robertson, Katey Turner, Megan Foley and Hayley Sinclair.

The game got off to a shaky start for Rangers as they fell behind in the first five minutes. Christie Kerr was first to react to a bobbling ball in the box and put the visitors into the lead.

The game was end to end after the goal until half time. Turner forced Stirling keeper Chloe Logan into a good save and Sarah Robertson almost forced an own goal from Stirling. Up the other end Rachel Donaldson wasn’t able to get her chip on target and Jade Gallon fired wide following a defensive mix up from Rangers.

The pressure paid off for the Bluebelles as Sarah Robertson slotted home the equaliser just before half time after Chantelle Brown’s original shot was saved by Logan.

The goal galvanised Rangers and they didn’t look back after the restart. Brown had a good chance to give the home side the lead but hit her shot over the bar

However, the Light Blues did take the lead when Katey Turner cut in from the left hand side to curl a shot into the bottom corner and open her account in the league this season.

Rangers continued to pile pressure on the Stirling goal with Turner and substitute Hayley Sinclair passing up good opportunities to double the lead.

The nerves were settled 10 minutes from the end after a stunning goal from Megan Foley. The fullback carried the ball from her own half  into the Stirling box, beating two players and rifled her shot into the top corner making it 3-1.

The game was put beyond doubt 2 minutes from time when Hayley Sinclair squeezed home a shot at the near post to make it 4-1 to the Gers.
