WES FODERINGHAM reckons the 46,000-plus Rangers fans who packed Hampden yesterday made their Petrofac Cup Final win over Peterhead feel like a home game.
The Light Blues 4-0 win at last put to an end four years of failure in the competition, and while some may talk it down, Foderingham and his teammates are acutely aware of the need to win as much as possible while Rangers players.
He told RangersTV.tv : “To walk out and see that many fans meant it felt like a home game. The amount of fans we had here was incredible, and they have been fantastic all season, both home and away.
“They really spur us on and help us when we need it. Today, we performed very well, defended very well and scored four goals. For us, it’s all about bringing a winning mentality back, and preparing us for next week as well.
“Tuesday night was fantastic, and it was great to win another medal yesterday. “It’s massive for me personally. Every competition we enter, we try and win. In the earlier rounds we performed very well and carried that on into the final.”
Having now clinched both the Championship title and Petrofac Cup in the same week, it has been a superb week for the club, but Foderingham knew from day one he has made the right decision to move to Ibrox.
He continued: “It was the right decision straight away to be honest. When I came up and looked at the place, I instantly fell in love with it.
“Games like this reiterate that and make me sure that I definitely made the right decision, and I am looking forward to winning more things with Rangers in the future.”
