GLENN MIDDLETON was a half time substitute and made an excellent contribution to set up the equalising goal.

The young Scottish winger crossed excellently for Alfredo Morelos in the 66th minute whose header from close range brought the Gers level.

Speaking after the game, Middleton was happy the Light Blues will be leaving Perth with all three points. He said: “The main thing was getting the win.

“That’s what the manager told me to try and change it at half time and at the end of the day all that mattered was getting the three points.

“We all care so much about every game going in to it and we all want to get the three points in every game and I think we showed just how much it meant to us today.

“There’s no better feeling than a late winner and it’s up there with the best feelings.

“Colombian international Morelos scored both goals in today’s reverse to take his total for the season to 19 and Morelos was fulsome in his praise for the striker.

He said: “He’s excellent. When we can get the ball to him in these positions then we know that he is going to score.”

The Light Blues continue their packed December on Wednesday against Hibernian at Ibrox, before Celtic are the visitors at the weekend.

Middleton continued: “It’s obviously a massive week for us, and that started with today.

“Today’s three points is as important as it would be if we were to get a win against Hibs on Wednesday. So we’re really looking forward to that one.

“We’re really looking forward to it, we’ve been talking about it already and we just can’t wait to get stuck in to it.”
