EROS Grezda admits Rangers never lost belief as they came from behind to defeat Hearts and go top of the Premiership.
Goals from Connor Goldson and Alfredo Morelos cancelled out a 27th minute own goal from Gareth McAuley and the winger believes the whole Gers side displayed a battling quality to come out of top. Rangers were forced to play the final 20 minutes of the game with 10 men, when Scott Arfield was dismissed for a foul on the Jambos keeper.
Grezda had at least four good chances to add to his personal tally and put space between the Gers and the home side but couldn’t make them count. A fact he wasn’t too concerned about come the final whistle.
Speaking to RangersTV Grezda smiled: “I am really proud of the guys today, we really showed character all the time.
“We never lost the belief even after going 1-0 down, we came back very fast and in the end we got a very good return.
“It is always good when you play in the first eleven so I gave everything I had and I am happy I contributed to the team to take the three points. We are top of the league tonight and we are going to enjoy that.
“I had a couple of chances, one in the first-half and after that two in the second but this time they didn’t come off, I hope next game they come off.
“It is really nice to be top of the league, it gives us confidence and now we have to take it game by game. It is going to be a very hard month up to the break.”
Rangers were backed by close to 4000 travelling fans and the Albanian took time to thank the Light Blues faithful.
“The fans were amazing as always, they were so loud today and it was so so nice to have them here.
“They have been fantastic in all the games this season and I hope we are going to continue to win to enjoy it with them.”
