MARK WARBURTON has confirmed that Rangers will appeal the red card handed to Andy Halliday during yesterday’s 4-2 win over Hibs.

However the Rangers manager has no concerns about covering the midfield man’s absence should the dismissal not be overturned.

Warburton said: “It was an emotionally charged game, a packed stadium and the whole feeling around the game and two very competitive players.

“That’s the situation. From our point of view the process is going through so it’s best to keep quiet and see what happens with that process.

“I’ve got no problem using Dean Shiels, Jordan Thompson or Dominic Ball in there.

As a 20-year old stepping in to that arena yesterday Dom Ball looked calm, assured and dealt with it really well.

“So we have no end of options. With a tight squad you have to make sure you have players who can play a number of positions and Dom can do that.

“He can play right back, or either centre half or in holding midfield so that gives us great flexibility.”
