MARTYN WAGHORN is already targeting further success with Rangers after watching from the sidelines as his teammates clinched promotion to take the club back to the top flight.
The free-scoring forward has been sidelined since mid-February but took great pleasure in watching the Light Blues complete their first target by winning the Championship.
He said: “I have missed the last seven or eight weeks and it is disappointing but the boys have done a great job.
“I have done more than I thought I was going to do this season and it’s nice to contribute and get the job done at the end of the season. I am pleased with what I have done but the boys have finished it off.
“Who knows what we’re capable of next season? We have a great young and hungry squad and we are only going to build on this year.
“I am desperate to prove myself in the Premiership and to kick on from this season.”
Waghorn knows that before that chance comes there will be the chance for Rangers to add further silverware this season with two trips to Hampden to come in the next two weeks.
He added: “We still have two cups to win and who knows what happens after that so we’ll come back raring to go.
“It is a fantastic achievement, the boys have worked well and been great from the first game and tonight just sums it up.
“It’s really pleasing but we have many more important games to come but we will enjoy it, we thoroughly enjoyed it and it is a fantastic feeling.”
