ON THIS DAY in 1998 Rangers signed Stefan Klos from Borussia Dortmund.
A SEASON on from lifting the Champions League with Dortmund, German keeper Klos joined Rangers on Christmas Eve.
The keeper affectionately named ‘Der Goalie’ by the fans, signed for the Light Blues for a fee of £700,000. Klos arrived in Glasgow as Andy Goram’s replacement after a glittering spell in his homeland.
Rangers would go on to lift the league championship and Scottish Cup in his first season at the club and the goalkeeper had a fantastic career at the Light Blues.
He was subsequently appointed the captain in 2004 and being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009 following winning four Premier Leagues, three Scottish Cups and two League Cups.
