GREG STEWART and Joe Aribo are back in the Rangers team to face Hearts at Tynecastle this evening as Steven Gerrard makes two changes to the side that started against Braga in midweek.
With Flo Kamberi cup-tied having played for Hibs in the earlier rounds of Scottish Cup this season and Alfredo Morelos not in the squad, Stewart gets the nod in attack and will make his 24th appearance of the 2019/20 campaign and his sixth start. Aribo replaces Ianis Hagi who has been named on the bench along with Jermain Defoe.
Today’s 5.30pm quarter-final clash in the capital is of huge importance for both the Light Blues and the Jambos, and the two changes mean the visitors will line-up with Allan McGregor in goal and in front of him will be a back four featuring captain James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, George Edmundson and Borna Barisic.
The midfield three also remains the same as Wednesday night in Portugal, with Ryan Jack, Scott Arfield and Steven Davis providing energy and experience in the Gers’ engine room.
After his stunning, match-winning goal in Braga, Ryan Kent and Aribo are expected to play on the left and right of Stewart as Gerrard’s men attempt to book a place in tomorrow’s semi-final draw having already beaten Stranraer and Hamilton in previous rounds.
Joining Hagi and Defoe on the Rangers bench tonight are Wes Foderingham, Sheyi Ojo, Andy Halliday, Glen Kamara and Nikola Katic.
