RANGERS have made seven additions to the squad this summer and Mark Warburton says that pre-season training and the trip to America is vital to continue to increase squad unity.

The Gers boss has already added Josh Windass, Matt Crooks, Jordan Rossiter, Joey Barton, Clint Hill, Niko Kranjcar and Matt Gilks to the ranks of his Light Blues squad this season and he told RangersTV that it’s important the players get to know each other better.

With the Gers squad travelling early tomorrow morning to Warburton feels that every aspect of the trip will allow more squad unity to grow. He said: “It is important, every day is important.

“You have new names coming in and young boys coming up. It’s about the group working together and demanding together, there are no cliques and we don’t have half of the boys go left and half of the boys go right.

“It’s about the group working together and forming an understanding.”

Jordan Rossiter won’t make the trip due to his England under-19 commitments and Joey Barton will not join the club until after July 1st, however all of the other new signings are expected to travel to America.

The Gers will work for eight days on the training ground before playing a match against Charleston Battery and the Gers boss is hopeful that the squad will push itself hard every day.

He continued: “They need to demand from each other every day in training. We’ve got to have that demand and we’ve got to make sure that the intensity is right every day. If we get that right then we will be okay.

As a group we’ve spoken about that already, it’s about us demanding day in and day out throughout the season.
