RANGERS are today delighted to announce midfielder Steven Davis has agreed a further one-year extension to his contract.

Initially at Ibrox from 2008 to 2012, Davis returned to Glasgow in January on-loan from Southampton before making the move permanent on a one-year deal in the summer.

Since returning, he has made 43 appearances and netted once – that goal being the memorable second against Porto in the Europa League last month.

His performances in midfield this season have been huge for the club as they have continued to improve, while internationally, he stands on the brink of history.

Currently on 117 caps, he is just two behind Pat Jennings’ Northern Ireland record of 119, and eight off Peter Shilton’s British record of 125. Indeed, he is already Britain’s most-capped midfielder of all time.

His overall Rangers record has seen him make 254 appearances to date, and his experience of success here at Gers is invaluable, with three League titles, three League Cups and two Scottish Cups to his name.
