JON TORAL has revealed his pinpoint set-piece delivery for Clint Hill’s goal was something he and the Rangers players have been working on this week.

Hill got on the end of a superb Toral ball to put Gers two to the good before half time in what was new gaffer Pedro Caixinha’s first game in charge.

And, while he may only have had four games to work with his new team, he has already made a big impression on Toral.

The Spaniard explained to “It was something we have worked on during the week, and it was a great finish from Clint. It’s been a great week and training from the lads has been spot-on. Everyone has welcomed the new manager, and it showed during the training sessions and today with the game.

“It was great and a strong start. We are very happy for all of the staff and we’re delighted to keep the momentum we had under Graeme Murty going.

“We worked on things during the week, and the boys bedded in really well and understood what he wanted from us. We are going to get better as the weeks go on as well.”

Toral found himself in a deeper role to what he would have been used to prior to coming to Rangers, but alongside Jason Holt, he had an enjoyable afternoon.

He continued: “I have played there in the last few weeks, and this time I had Jason [Holt] in there with me. It was good and I felt comfortable, and I just try to help the team where I can.”

And, with the international break giving Gers time to work on Caixinha’s fresh ideas and a good recent run of league form, confidence is high in the camp.

Toral concluded: “We feel good. The momentum is going our way, so we need to keep going. The international break gives us two weeks until the next game, so the manager will be able to work with us and we have time to work on the training pitch to keep getting on.

“It’s a great time as we are building momentum and there are plenty of league games left and the cup as well which we are looking forward to.”
