JORDAN ROSSITER got 90 minutes under his belt last night as England got their Euro Under-19 Championship campaign off to the perfect start.

Playing their first game against France in Germany, an own goal from Jerome Onguene plus a strike from Dominic Solanke left the Young Lions two-up after just nine minutes.

The French hit back through Jean-Kevin Augustin just by the half-hour mark, but the English held out for a priceless victory in their quest to reach the semi-final stage.

They are now getting set to face the Netherlands in Ulm on Friday, before wrapping up the group stage against Croatia in Heidenheim on Monday.

The group winners and runners-up make it through to the semi-final of the competition, while they will also guarantee qualification for next summer’s Under-20 World Cup in South Korea.

Hosts Germany, Portugal, Italy and Austria make up the other group in the eight-team tournament.
