RYAN JACK gave the following reaction to today’s defeat to Hamilton Accies at Ibrox Stadium.
On what the feeling was in the dressing room after the game, Jack said: “We’re hurt and we’re disappointed – there’s no other way to put it. It’s embarrassing for us – we got two wins in a row and then we have a home game, and a chance to get another three points, and get closer to teams in front of us, and we didn’t take it.
“We created chances, and sometimes that happens and Alfredo didn’t put the ball in the net. I don’t think it’s just down to him – it’s down to the whole team and to make sure even when it’s not going our way, we can stay tight at the back and give ourselves every chance.”
He then went on the discuss the reaction to the first goal explaining: “It’s a tough one going one behind as maybe with the chances we had we didn’t expect it. You have to have a reaction – there is no point in mumping and moaning – you have to stay together and I don’t really think we did that.
“We could have done that side of it better, but we will take it on the chin, we will take the criticism and we’ll come out fighting.
“It’s for us all to stay round each other and not just Alfredo. When we go one behind and the crowd got on our backs, we could maybe have dealt with that side of it better.
“We know there is a big expectation and the fans want to see good football and see us scoring lots of goals.
“I think we just need to all stick together and I’m sure we can put it right.”
He was then asked about ‘Gers not winning three games in a row so far this season, and if it was affecting any of the players.
He replied: “No, not at all. Everyone on the outside is making a big deal of it, and we are the ones that can shut people up by going and doing it on the park. This was a chance, we didn’t take it, and it’s disappointment all round.”
And on what Graeme Murty had to say to the team after the game, he added: “Graeme was just saying that nothing he said was going to make us feel better. We are absolutely devastated that we have lost a game at home here in front of our fans, and we need to stick together, stay round each other, get in training on Monday and get a bit of a bounce about us.”
