THE inaugural Rangers Legends Invitational took place at the Carrick Golf Club & Spa last week.
As part of the day, participants experienced a golfing clinic with two-time European Tour winner Alastair Forsyth, enjoyed a round of golf on the picturesque shores of Loch Lomond and revelled in the company of Rangers Legends including Colin Stein, Peter McCloy, Derek Johnstone, Mark Hateley, John Brown, Andy Goram and Barry Ferguson.
With exclusive individual and team prizes to be won, guests were in good spirits on arrival, no doubt aided by the kind weather! Out with the four-ball competition, there were prizes for our longest drive, nearest to the pin and beat the pro competitions.
It was a hard fought contest with a number of teams vying to get their hands on the coveted Legends Invitational Jug for the first time. Congratulations to Barry Ferguson who led his team, Callaway Golf, to victory.
However, it was Peter McCloy who stole the show with a monster 300yd+ drive to win the Longest Drive Competition – not bad for someone who celebrates his 71st birthday in November!
After the golf, guests watched on as Club Legends Andy Goram and John Brown went head to head in the Carrick’s signature chipping challenge, with the outcome inevitably contested by both parties.
To round off a spectacular and memorable day of entertainment, guests attended a reception and prize-giving ceremony in the Clubhouse hosted by John Brown.
