RANGERS came from behind against Ross County to win and here’s what happened across the rest of the league.
Former Rangers player Kris Boyd grabbed a brace as Kilmarnock thrashed Partick Thistle 5-1 with Eamonn Brophy also grabbed two. Niall Keown scored an own goal to round off the Killie goal scorers, with Chris Erskine scoring for the Jags.
Another former Ger was on the scoresheet on Saturday as Kyle Lafferty scored the only goal of the game as Hearts defeated Stephen Robinson’s Motherwell at Tynecastle.
Summer signing Stefan Scougall scored in the other Saturday Premiership match as St Johnstone defeated Hamilton Accies at the Superseal Stadium on their artificial surface.
On Friday evening, Aberdeen needed a second half strike by Scott McKenna to secure a 1:0 win away at Neil McCann’s Dundee and keep the pressure on the Light Blues for second place.
On Sunday, league leaders Celtic travelled to Easter Road where Scott Sinclair’s brace was cancelled out by goals from Efe Ambrose and Oli Shaw for a 2-2 draw.
The Gers are currently sitting in second position in the league, five points behind Celtic who also have a game in hand. Despite the teams being level on points, Aberdeen are in third position behind Graeme Murty’s men who have a much better goal difference.
This week sees a full midweek Premiership card with two matches on Tuesday and four on Wednesday night. Hearts make the trip to Dens Park, with Steve Clarke’s Killie travelling north to Ross County tomorrow.
On Wednesday night, the Gers go east to face Neil Lennon’s Hibernian who are in fourth place on thirty points, three behind Rangers. Elsewhere, Celtic welcome Hamilton to Glasgow’s east end, Thistle will play Motherwell at home and Derek McInnes’ Aberdeen take on St Johnstone.
