RANGERS defeated Craig Levein’s Hearts at Murrayfield on Saturday lunchtime and here’s what happened across the league.

Kenny Miller scored his third and fourth goals of the season, with Josh Windass grabbing his second as the Gers won 3-1 in the lunchtime kick off in the capital.

Steve Clarke continued his good start to life at Kilmarnock with a second away draw in a row by drawing 1-1 against Celtic. Leigh Griffiths opened the scoring for Celtic, before Northern Irish cap Jordan Jones equalised at Celtic Park.

Aberdeen went a goal behind to a Michael Gardyne strike in the eighth minute of the game, but the Dons were back on terms four minutes later through Ryan Christie. Kenny McLean proved to be the match winner by converting a penalty in the 52nd minute.

Dundee continued their poor run of results by losing 3-1 at home to Hamilton through goals from Skondras, Rojano and former Gers attacker David Templeton.

Michael Boyle was the difference at Fir Park as Steven Robinson’s Motherwell were defeated 1:0 by Neil Lennon’s Hibernian, which brought the Edinburgh club level on points with the Steelmen.

Finally, Partick Thistle defeated Tommy Wright’s St Johnstone as Michael Storey scored the only goal of the game just fourteen minutes into the match.

The results of the weekend see Celtic remain at the top on 27 points, with Aberdeen just a single point behind them on 26. The Gers are now five points behind Derek McInnes’ men in third, with Motherwell and Hibs in fourth and fifth respectively.

On Tuesday night, Clarke will be wanting to continue his good start in Scotland as his side face Hibernian at Rugby Park. Then at the weekend, St Johnstone welcome Celtic for the lunchtime kick off live on Sky Sports.

Rangers entertain Partick Thistle at Ibrox, with Hamilton travelling to Aberdeen, Hibs facing Dundee at Easter Road and the Steelmen travelling to Dingwall to face Ross County. On Sunday, Hearts will again play at Murrayfield, welcoming Kilmarnock.
