AS well as Rangers’ 4-1 win over Dundee on Saturday, there were five other Scottish Premiership matches at the weekend. Here’s a look back on them…
HAMILTON 1 CELTIC 4
Friday’s fixture saw Celtic ease to victory over Hamilton Accies. Stuart Armstrong and twice Scott Sinclair had them 3-0 up at half-time before Odsonne Edouard netted after the break. Alex Gogic pulled one back for Accies from an Ali Crawford corner late-on.
HEARTS 0 ABERDEEN 0
Hearts’ first league fixture at Murrayfield ended in stalemate. The home side had the better chances in the game but time and again were denied by Joe Lewis. It’s the first time this season the Dons have dropped points, but remain level with Celtic at the top of the table.
MOTHERWELL 2 KILMARNOCK 0
Motherwell netted two second half goals to overcome Kilmarnock at Fir Park. Gordon Greer hit the bar for Killie in the first half before Ryan Bowman put Well ahead. Bowman was then fouled in the box late-on with Louis Moult converting the resultant penalty.
ROSS COUNTY 1 PARTICK THISTLE 1
Alex Schalk’s late penalty rescued a point for Ross County in Dingwall. The Jags were ahead early-on through a Blair Spittal goal but were pegged back after Schalk was fouled in the box with four minutes left to play.
ST JOHNSTONE 1 HIBERNIAN 1
Hibernian and St Johnstone played out a 1-1 draw in Perth on Saturday. The Saints were ahead three minutes after the break through Michael O’Halloran, but Hibs responded with numerous chances and eventually found an equaliser from a Paul Paton own goal.
