THE TOP of the Scottish Premiership table remained unchanged after the weekend with both Aberdeen and Celtic winning.

The Dons kicked the weekend off with a 2-0 victory over Hearts with Shay Logan and Johnny Hayes grabbing the goals. That result meant Derek McInnes men stayed in second. Hearts now have just one win in seven and sit in fifth after the weekend.

Rangers 4-0 win over Hamilton kept them in third place but still eight points behind Aberdeen. The Gers still have to play the Dons twice before the season is out.

Celtic continued their unbeaten run as they beat Dundee 2-1 at Dens Park. That win takes them 25 points clear of second placed Aberdeen.

St Johnstone grabbed a 2-1 win over Motherwell in Stephen Robinson’s first game in charge of the Steelmen. The Saints are two points above Hearts in fourth spot while the ‘Well are three points above the relegation play-off place.

Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle played out a 1-1 draw at Rugby Park with on loan Connor Sammon on target for Killie. Partick finish the weekend in sixth two points above Killie in seventh.

Relegation threatened Inverness picked up an important point at home as they drew 1-1 with Ross County in the Highlands derby.
