RANGERS defeated Inverness by a single goal at Ibrox on Christmas Eve but what happened across the rest of the Premiership in the latest round of matches.
Rangers will visit St Johnstone this Wednesday in Perth and Tommy Wright’s side won 1-0 away at Kilmarnock. Midfielder Murray Davidson was the matchwinner in the game and Killie had Luke Hendrie sent off in stoppage time.
There was drama in Dundee as Paul Hartley’s men hit back from two goals down to beat Ian Cathro’s Hearts side 3-2 at Dens Park on Friday.
A goal from the spot by Jamie Walker, then a second strike from Callum Paterson had Hearts in front, but Darren O’Dea pulled one back, Paul McGowan equalised and Canadian striker Marcus Haber grabbed a stoppage-time winner.
Third-placed Aberdeen defeated Motherwell 3-1 at Fir Park thanks to goals from Graeme Shinnie, Adam Rooney and Niall McGinn. Scott McDonald’s spectacular effort had Well level for a time at 1-1 and they also missed a penalty.
Partick Thistle were 3-1 winners against Ross County in Dingwall to move off the foot of the table. Liam Lindsay, Kris Doolan and Chris Erskine all scored in the second half before Liam Boyce reduced the deficit.
On Christmas Eve, ten man of Celtic defeated Hamilton Accies 3-0 thanks to goals from Leigh Griffiths before half time, a good strike from Stuart Armstrong and a third from Moussa Dembele after Callum McGregor had been sent off.
Tomorrow night will see Hamilton Accies travel to Aberdeen, with Hearts welcoming Kilmarnock to Tynecastle. The following night, Rangers are away to St Johnstone, Celtic welcome Ross County to Glasgow, Motherwell are away to Inverness Caley Thistle, with Paul Hartley’s Dundee headed to Patrick Thistle.
