TRAVEL INFORMATION

Major roadworks are taking place in Perth meaning the slip-road from the A9 to the A85 (i.e. the normal Northbound exit to McDiarmid Park) is closed. The diversion is signposted and involves continuing on the A9 to the Inveralmond Roundabout before doubling back.

Please allow extra time for your journey.

SAINTS PLAYER PREVIEW:

Steven MacLean (The Courier): “We have been called rugby players before but we just take these things with a pinch of salt. It is water off a duck’s back.

“People try to come up with new things every year for us. If we are doing well and people want to have a fight then it is a compliment for us. We will take everything that comes our way.

“It is a good thing in life when somebody puts you down. It makes you want to come out the other end fighting. It is a good attitude to have to prove people wrong. It gives you a strong mentality when people say you are not good enough.

“Secretly we use it in the dressing room to try and finish as high up the league as possible. We enjoy folk having a dig at us because we know we have more sides to our game. We can fight when it gets dirty and we can play football as well.

“We have not finished in the top four for the past three seasons by just lumping it long.”

SAINTS MANAGER PREVIEW:

Tommy Wright (Evening Times): “I spent a bit of time looking at the goals we have conceded. I can safely say nine of the 11 in the league have been down to individual errors. We could be in an even stronger position.

“But we have made it far too easy for teams to scores against us, especially in the last two away games with Aberdeen and Dundee.

“We have given away too many cheap goals. That is something that has to improve to get us back on a winning run.”

“Michael O’Halloran would have made the Rangers game but we will take it easy with him and he will definitely be ok for Hearts. We will make sure he uses the time wisely.”
