HEARTS MANAGER PREVIEW

Ian Cathro took charge at Tynecastle on Monday and he told heartsfc.co.uk: “There are some really good staff here, good people and the players are really professional. So it’s been easy so far.

“The club is in a good place, the team is in a good place and the whole structure is good. So there’s no reason for any upheaval.

“The players have trained well. We’re making some small improvements – making sure everybody is comfortable – but still making some improvements.

“We’re making some more demands in certain areas, but nothing drastic.

“Robbie Neilson’s just been voted manager of the month. That’s testament to him, but also to the players. So they know they’re in a good place and there’s a good feeling amongst them.”

“I feel really at ease because I’ve been preparing for this for a long time. I’ve been doing a lot of these things for a long time.

“We’re going to have a new Main Stand at Tynecastle soon and I want 20,000 people to be excited and running down the street to get into the stadium in time for the first whistle.

“When the ninety minutes are up I want everyone to have had a great day. I want football to give that to people, that’s what makes football special.”

TEN-MAN Rangers showed tremendous passion and commitment as they roared to a stunning victory over champions Hearts at Ibrox Stadium.

On a glorious day in Glasgow, first half goals from Kenny Miller and Haris Vuckic proved crucial for the Light Blues who saw Lee McCulloch sent off minutes before half time for an elbow challenge on Osman Sow.

From there it was always going to be an uphill battle for Stuart McCall’s side but every Rangers player deserves praise for their effort, including substitutes Bilel Mohnsi, Ian Black and Robbie Crawford who made his first appearance of the campaign.

Genero Zeefuik pulled one back for the visitors with a tap-in with eight minutes remaining but Rangers held on to record a memorable win against all the odds.
