WE look at some of the memorable moments that have happened on this day in the remarkable history of Rangers.

Today we remember a dominant win over Motherwell from 1967, beating St Johnstone in 1992 and a special birthday for a fans favourite.

In 1967, Rangers took on Motherwell, winning 2:0 thanks to goals from two of Scotland’s greatest ever footballing gifts to the world, Alex Ferguson and John Greig.

Rangers were dominant throughout the match and had the frontline been more ruthless, the score could have been much more.

Early in the match Rangers were awarded a penalty and much to the bemusement of the Ibrox crowd, Willie Henderson stepped up to take it rather than regular taker John Greig and proceeded to drive the penalty past the post.

The little winger had no time to make amends for his miss as just twenty minutes later he was poleaxed by McKay and had to be replaced after fracturing his jaw.

Rangers brushed St Johnstone aside in 1992 with a 5:1 win in Perth thanks to a double of doubles from Ally McCoist and Mark Hateley, with Ian Ferguson also getting on the scoresheet.

Today is also the birthday of fan favourite Madjid Bougherra.
