SHEYI OJO was all smiles after he helped Rangers secure three valuable Premiership points with a terrific 5-0 win over Aberdeen.

The on-loan Liverpool winger made his 13th start of the season this afternoon and was delighted to play a part in a stunning home performance from the Light Blues.

The 22-year-old told RangersTV post-match: “It was a great win. Obviously it was important that we got the three points today and to do it like that in front of our home fans was a great feeling.

“We are in good form as a team. We start fast and I think when we got the early goal from Tav the game settled down and then it was our game to lose.

I think if we play like we play today we can beat anyone. The main focus was just to play how we can play – be direct, be aggressive and make the crowd feel like we are going to win.

“As soon as we got the first goal we knew we could score more and we ended up with five and we could probably have scored more. But we got the three points and that’s the most important thing.

“I think we started really well. We had a few shots early on and we were unfortunate not to get the early goal.

“When Tav got the penalty we have confidence in him to score and he scored two today. So it is great for him to get the goals and for us to get the three points.”

Sheyi also praised forward Greg Stewart, who impressed on his return to the starting eleven and scored his side’s important second goal – and his first for the Rangers – in the 40th minute today.

He said: “Obviously it’s hard for him because he has only had a few opportunities of late, but with all the games coming thick and fast everyone is going to get their opportunities and Greg done really well today.

“I’m sure there will be other players that will get the opportunities and, as a team and individually, everyone wants to play a part in hopefully being a successful team this season.

Obviously Buff scored today, JD scored and Greg, like I said, came in and scored. Unfortunately I didn’t manage to score myself and I’m quite disappointed with that, but it’s great that everyone is chipping in with goals and assists and no doubt that can only help the team.

“We’ve got a big game coming up against Young Boys next so we’ll get a couple of days rest and then we’ll go again. Hopefully we can keep this momentum going.

“I’m really enjoying it. There are loads of games and I can’t complain. I’m playing every game and I’m really enjoying my time here.

“Obviously the fans have been really good to me and supporting me and I’m chipping in with goals and assists so I’m really happy and hopefully it can continue.”
