MICHAEL O’HALLORAN has completed his first preseason campaign for the Gers after joining the club in the January transfer window last season.

The Gers winger travelled with the squad to Charleston for the ten day training camp in South Carolina, before playing in the League Cup matches against Motherwell, Annan and East Stirlingshire.

Following the disappointment of the friendly defeat to Burnley, the Light Blues have now turned their attention to Saturday’s curtain raiser against Hamilton at Ibrox and speaking to RangersTV today, he said that he and the squad are raring to go for season 2016/17.

He said: “I think that all of preseason has been good. The trip to America, then coming back and looking to the League Cup games and using them as pre-season has been good.

“We were disappointed with Saturday, but we’ve analysed that closely, but all in all I think it’s been good to get us going and we’re ready for Hamilton.”

“I think we can take some positives away from the game as well. We’ve gone over it in analysis and we’ll work on it in training throughout the week and we’ll put it right for Saturday.”

O’Halloran has impressed throughout preseason with his blistering pace causing teams problems from the right flank including an excellent half an hour against Burnley at the weekend where he set up Tavernier with a great chance, before playing a part in the only goal scored by the Gers.

It was the wingers run down the right hand side and cut back that was turned into the Clarets goal by Ben Mee and despite overtures to the opposite, O’Halloran wasn’t keen on claiming that goal despite wanting to grab more for the team this season.

He continued: “I don’t know if I can claim that one, Sky Sports gave it to me but I’m not so sure.

“I’m happy when I chip in, but I don’t think it matters who scores the goals as long as we are scoring, but hopefully I can chip in this season and get my fair few as well.”

“Burnley was a step up for us, they are Premiership opposition and we’ve been playing teams who are not of that quality and it was a good game for us to let us know where we are and what we can still work on.”

O’Halloran was speaking to RangersTV in yet another exclusive interview as the Gers gear up for the new League season this weekend – subscribers can watch the extended interview only on RTV HERE.
