Hibernian’s 1-0 defeat at Queen of the South means just five wins from their remaining nine Championship fixtures will secure a return to the top flight for Mark Warburton’s Ibrox outfit for the first time in four years.
Holt however insists the focus will always be on the club’s next fixture at all times, while he also paid tribute to the manner of his side’s performance in this evening’s victory.
Speaking to RangersTV.tv, the midfield dynamo explained: “It was a really professional, controlled performance out there. I think we controlled large periods of the game and got our rewards.
“First and foremost, I’m delighted the team got the three points and I think I did well personally tonight too as well.
“We had a bright start tonight which set the tone for the rest of the game.
“We have said from day one this season that we would just take each game as it comes. Tonight, we looked to get the three points and now we look forward to Saturday and Dundee in the cup.”
Harry Forester grabbed his second goal in two games to open the scoring this evening while Lee Wallace made it 2-0 with a sweet finish early in the second half.
It made for a comfortable evening for Rangers and Holt was thrilled for both his goalscoring teammates.
He continued: “Harry came on and obviously scored the goal on Saturday and the grabbed another one tonight so we are delighted for him.
“It was different class from Waldo too. He’s always up and down that line and to see him get his rewards was great.”
Dundee now lie in wait in Saturday’s Scottish Cup quarter-final, and it’s a game Holt is very much looking forward to.
He concluded: “It’s a home tie at what I’m sure will be a packed Ibrox, and it’s a game we’re really looking forward to.
“We are still in a few competitions and we’ll look to do well in every one of them.”
