GLENN MIDDLETON has joined Scottish Premiership side Hibernian on-loan until the end of the season.

The 19-year-old, who broke into Rangers first-team last season, goes to Edinburgh with Hibs, managed by Paul Heckingbottom, looking to improve upon their fifth-place finish in the last campaign.

Middleton impressed Steven Gerrard during the 2018 pre-season, leading to a promotion to the senior squad and the winger was then awarded with a new contract in October, keeping him at Ibrox until 2023.

He made his debut against FK Shkupi in July 2018 before making his league debut in August at Motherwell’s Fir Park. The Scotland Under-21 internationalist scored his first Rangers goal in a 4-0 win over Dundee in September 2018 and went on to bag his first European goal away to Spartak Moscow in the November.

To date, Middleton has played 27 times for Rangers, scoring five goals.
