ALLAN McGREGOR sang the praises of both his teammates and the Ibrox supporters following tonight’s UEFA Europa League defeat of Rapid Vienna.

The Light Blues were outstanding to defeat the Austrians in front of a raucous home support, with McGregor reckoning he and his boys provided the perfect tonic to Sunday’s loss at Livingston.

He told RangersTV: “It was brilliant and I thought the full 90 minutes were terrific. We were in their faces, we pressed them at the right times and we were really good on the ball as well.

“Everything was really good and what it should be about. When you have a disappointment, the reaction is the most important thing.

“I don’t think we could have asked for anything better tonight.

“The noise in the last 10 minutes, it is something you love and hope it happens all the time.”

McGregor is now turning his attention to another huge game on Sunday, with table-topping Hearts the visitors to Ibrox.

The goalkeeper added: “I think the most important thing is consistency. If you want to go and be successful at any club, it’s about consistency and we have shown to ourselves and we have shown to other people we can do it.

“We need to do that on a more consistent basis.”
