FORMER Ranger Kris Boyd will play a testimonial match this weekend to mark an outstanding career as a Kilmarnock XI take on a Gers XI on Saturday at 1pm.

The day is to celebrate Boyd’s contribution to the Ayrshire club, who he came through the ranks at before signing for Rangers in 2006. He returned to Rugby Park twice after leaving, first in 2013 and then again in 2015. Both moves sandwiched his second spell at Ibrox.

Boyd, to date has scored 134 goals for Killie, adding to his 138 in a Rangers jersey. The striker will make donations to charities of his choice at the end of the testimonial year.

Taking place on the Saturday 17th November (KO 1pm), over the international weekend, players who have been part of Boyd’s career will turn out in a Kilmarnock Heroes team and a Rangers Euro side.

Steve Clarke and former Gers manager and Hall of Fame striker Ally McCoist will manage the respective teams and Rangers fans can see former Light Blues including Peter Lovenkrands, Nacho Novo, Michael Mols Pedro Mendes, and more in a Rangers shirt once again.
