NIKOLA KATIC was delighted as he got on the scoresheet in Rangers’ victory over Hearts this afternoon.

The big defender was excellent as Gers ran out 3-1 winners at Tynecastle, with Katic explaining: “We are really happy with this win. We knew we were coming to play against a really good team and the weather was really tough as you don’t normally get this weather in Scotland!

“It was really warm, but we are really happy with the win and we want to keep pushing in the other games we have left as well.”

On his goal, he continued: “I am really happy for that, but the team did that for me. It was a really good cross from Daniel Candeias and it was some reward for me for some really good, hard work.

“I want to keep doing the same.”

Hearts’ striker Uche Ikpeazu provided a hard challenge for both Katic and partner Connor Goldson, and he was pleased with how they handled him.

Katic said: “He was really tough and in every challenge he was on my back. It is really hard to compete with him, but I think Connor and I did a really good job against him nd we are happy with that in the end.”

And on the need to keep this run of form going, he added: “We need to do that for the fans as we didn’t do good in some games this season. We have to give everything in these last four games and try to get 12 points.”
