ALBANIAN internationalist Eros Grezda is proud to be Steven Gerrard’s 14th signing and he is looking forward to exciting the Rangers fans with his pace and direct wing play.
The 23-year-old has signed a four-year contract with the Light Blues – subject to receiving visa and international clearance – having previously played for Osijek, the Croatian club Rangers faced in the second qualifying round of the Europa League this season.
Grezda didn’t play in those games but he is highly-rated, with Borna Barisic believing he is a top talent who will only improve while Albania boss Christian Panucci also has high hopes for the youngster on the international stage.
Eros, speaking exclusively to RangersTV at Ibrox Stadium, feels he is moving to Glasgow at the right time in his career and he can’t wait to pull on a blue jersey.
He said: “It’s an incredible experience for me. Really I dreamed like a child to play at a big club with big fans and it could not be better for me now I’m here. I really can’t wait to start playing in front of the fans.
I think it’s the right time for me, at 23-years-old, to move to such a good league and to a big club like Rangers. This is a really big step forward in my career.
“To be honest before I came here I didn’t know much [about Rangers] but after we started talking about coming here I looked at the history and watched the last games and really I’m so happy to be here.
“This is the first time I have been in the stadium and it’s empty so it is another feeling and it still is incredible.
“I can’t wait to start playing in official matches with fans. Really I can’t wait for that.”
Eros described his style of play and what the Rangers supporters can expect from him on the pitch.
He added: “They can expect that I will give every game my maximum. I’m a fast player and I can score goals, so hopefully I can score winning goals here.”
