JASON HOLT was delighted with the way that the Gers side dug in to win all three points against St Mirren today.

Holt grabbed his fourth goal in fifteen games for the Gers today to put the Light Blues eight points clear of Hibs in second place in a hard fought victory at St Mirren Park.

Speaking to RangersTV after the match, he said: “It was a really tough game but I think that the boys dug in tremendously well.

“We created quite a few chances in the first half and we were disappointed that we didn’t take them. That said, the boys dug in really well and it was a good three points.”
“It was a difficult test today and we maybe didn’t win it in the way that we like to win games. We like to win games with a certain style of play, but sometimes these games arise and you just have to deal with it.”
Holt scored in the twenty fifth minute of the match from what seemed an impossible angle after Kenny Miller had put him through on goal.
“I was happy with the goal and was just glad to see it hit the back the net. If I keep getting into those positions and getting chances then I just need to make sure I take them.”
Rangers keeper Wes Foderingham was in fine form for the Gers today and Holt reserved high praise for him and the rest of the defensive unit. He said: “Wes was great today, I think the whole back four was good and throughout the spine of the team we were good.”
