RANGERS Football Club can confirm today that Andy Halliday has joined Gabala of Azerbaijan in a season-long loan deal.

The 25-year-old midfielder moved to the Light Blues in July 2015 and since then has made 90 competitive appearances, scoring 15 goals.

Halliday, who is under contract with Rangers until 2020, was left out of Pedro Caixinha’s Europa League squad and will now fly out to Gabala’s training camp in Salzberg.

Roman Hryhorchuk’s side finished second in the Azerbaijan Premier League in 2016/17 and will begin their Europa League campaign in the second qualifying round next month, where they will face either Dinamo Batumi of Georgia or Jagiellonia Bialystok of Poland.
