GOAL A: MARTYN WAGHORN v Hamilton

Martyn Waghorn rescued a point for Gers against Hamilton on the opening day of the season, but this goal was largely down to a sublime piece of vision and passing from Harry Forrester.

Just minutes after coming onto the field of play, Forrester drove forward from midfield, and with the outside of his right boot, he delivered an outstanding cross over the head of Mickey Devlin to the feet of Waghorn. With goalkeeper Remi Matthews still to beat however, Waghorn managed to connect his left foot with the ball and planted the ball under the stopper and into the back of the net.

It sent Ibrox wild with delight, and it was the high point on an afternoon of disappointment with the visitors holding out for a point.

GOAL B: NIKO KRANJCAR v Peterhead

Kranjcar notched up this stunner as the Gers eased past Peterhead in the League Cup. He started the move and ended it after being involved in the entirety of the build-up. It was a cute one-two with Joe Dodoo which presented the Croatian with his chance.

He dummied the defence and lifted the ball beyond the keeper as he curled the ball with the inside of his foot.

GOAL C: HARRY FORRESTER v Dundee

Harry Forrester sent Rangers on their way to a crucial and deserved three points by opening the scoring at Dens Park.

Picking up a clearance from the Dundee defence on the edge of the area, Barrie McKay did well to firstly enter the penalty area and then hold off the attentions of Kevin Holt. From there, he flicked the ball over his head to just shy of the six-yard box where Forrester got away from marker Cammy Kerr and he then fired the ball into the top corner beyond the attentions of Dees keeper Scott Bain.

It was a quite thumping finish and a crucial strike as it gave the Light Blues the perfect start in their quest for their first top flight win in over four years.

GOAL D: KENNY MILLER v Dundee

Miller got his 99th goal for Rangers with this great finish.

It was a good team goal as Barrie McKay looped a clever ball over the top and into the path of Lee Wallace to play it back to the striker. Miller had to scramble to get to the ball but managed to unleash a left footed rocket into the roof of the net.

GOAL E: JAMES TAVERNIER v Kilmarnock

James Tavernier gave Rangers hope against Kilmarnock with this superb free-kick at Rugby Park.

A foul by Dean Hawkshaw on Jordan Rossiter gave Tavernier the chance from the set-piece 30-yards from goal, and while he has impressed previously from situations around the box, none of his previous goals had come from this far out. But, he took on the shot anyway, and after a dummy from Niko Kranjcar, Tavernier curled the ball up, over the wall and into the postage stamp in the top right-hand corner of the net beyond the reach of Killie keeper Jamie MacDonald.

It was a quite wonderful strike, although it wasn’t to propel Mark Warburton’s side onwards to victory.
