RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB is delighted to announce the signing of Welsh international Declan John from Cardiff City on a season-long loan deal.
The 22 year-old has both Premier League and Championship experience with the Bluebirds, and has represented his country from youth right through to full international level.
A left-back by trade, John has also featured at left wing-back on occasion, and is in the final year of his contract at Cardiff having signed a five-year deal in 2013.
Back then, City were in the Premier League, where as an 18 year-old, John made 20 appearances against some of the world’s best attacking talent.
He made his full Wales debut in October 2013, with the Dragons defeating Macedonia 1-0 in a World Cup qualifier at John’s home Cardiff City Stadium.
He had loan spells with Barnsley in 2015 and then Chesterfield in 2016 before returning to the banks of the Taff last season, where he played 16 times.
He becomes the 10th first-team signing of the summer for Pedro Caixinha, with John being available for the Dundee match next Saturday.
