RANGERS have won four consecutive competitive games for the first time this season after beating Hearts 3-0 in Edinburgh this afternoon.

The Light Blues arrived in the capital minus Steven Davis, Kyle Lafferty and Sasa Papac, all of whom were deemed not fit enough to feature.

Nevertheless, the visitors dominated the first period in particular and took a deserved lead after 28 minutes through Sone Aluko.

The Nigerian international curled in a superb free kick from 25 yards after a foul by Andy Webster and soon after Andrew Little soon made it two.

He dinked in from six yards after good perseverance up front and that gave Gers a commanding lead at the break.

Jambos striker Craig Beattie had a great chance to reduce the deficit with 15 minutes to go when Aluko brought down David Templeton in the box.

But the forward smacked the face of the bar and that summed up the hosts’ day as Rangers went on to make him pay through Little.

He tapped in his second and his team’s third of the day three minutes from the end after good work by Lee Wallace and Steven Whittaker to round off a good day’s work.
