CHINESE Lion Dance Group, Hung Fat, performed at Ibrox recently as part of the Chinese New Year celebrations.
Made up from fans and members of the Chinese Rangers Supporter’s Club, they were invited to the St Mirren game as part of the club’s Everyone Anyone diversity and inclusion campaign.
Led by Gordon Chan, who built up a relationship with the Rangers Charity Foundation during a series of open door events last year, the half-time entertainment wowed the crowd with a traditional display of Chinese music and dancing.
Reflecting on a memorable evening at his beloved club, Gordon said: “It was an incredible night for me as a Rangers fan and a passionate lion dancer. To bring my two loves together was just unbelievable.
“I can’t thank the Rangers Charity Foundation and the club enough for the invitation. It was a dream come true to perform at Ibrox.
“The Everyone Anyone campaign is just brilliant and it has given me the chance to appear at Ibrox.”
Rachel Cummins from the Rangers Charity Foundation added: “It was amazing having the Chinese Lion Dancers at Ibrox.
“We held open door events with people from different communities last year and have built up a really close relationship with Gordon so it was great to see the group performing at Ibrox.
“Everyone at the club and Foundation is really passionate about the Everyone Anyone campaign and we want to make a positive difference in a genuine and honest way.
“This is a good example of how the campaign can bring the Rangers Family together.”
