HAVING enjoyed a significant gap at the top of the Championship while Hearts’ captain last year, Danny Wilson is certainly experienced when it comes to seeing out a season.
Rangers’ 1-0 win coupled with Hibernian’s shock 3-2 reverse at Dumbarton means the Light Blues hold an 11 point advantage in the race to return to the top tier.
Wilson discussed what qualities Rangers possess as they close in on the title, and he admitted the forthcoming busy schedule is something that will be relished by the Ibrox players.
He told RangersTV.tv: “It helps when you know you have a hungry changing room, and that’s what we have got in there. They boys are well aware of what the task ahead is, and we are looking forward to all our games.
“We have another on Tuesday – they are coming thick and fast and we know we have the quality in the changing room to pick up the three points in the games we go into.
“We go home, rest well, then get right back into it.
“There is less time for training, and the games that are all coming up all mean something. Obviously they mean something at the start of the season, but we are counting down the games in the league now, and we have some cup games to look forward to as well.
“It’s an exciting time for us, and it is one we are all enjoying as we look forward to the rest of the season.”
That busy schedule kicks-off with Raith Rovers at Ibrox on Tuesday night, and Wilson expects a tough test from the Fifers after having to grind out a 1-0 win in Kirkcaldy four weeks ago.
He continued: “We controlled the game, but it was the same story as it has been in the last couple of weeks where we maybe haven’t been firing on all cylinders in all areas.
“Our play in general has been good, and hopefully one day more will go in for us.
“We will take another 1-0 win though, and another three points as that is the most important thing.”
